About ABDM
Learn about the history, mission, and values that guide the Brazilian Muaythai Development Association.
Our History
The Brazilian Muaythai Development Association (ABDM) was founded in 2024 by a group of former fighters, coaches, and enthusiasts who identified the need for a national entity dedicated exclusively to the development, organization, and regulation of Muaythai in Brazil. They understood that no existing institution fully represented their ideals or addressed the demands necessary for the structured strengthening and evolution of the sport in the country.
Since its founding, ABDM has worked tirelessly to establish technical standards, train qualified referees, sanction regional and national competitions, and represent Brazil in the sport's homeland of Thailand.
Headquartered in Porto Velho with an office in Bangkok, ABDM has representation in all 27 Brazilian states and has established itself as the leading reference for national Muaythai. Its membership includes many names who have made history in the sport in Brazil, Thailand, and other countries, contributing significantly to the strengthening and international projection of Brazilian Muaythai.
